The Ecohouses Project is an initiative designed by STRO and implemented by various entities. Its purpose is to promote the design and construction of ecological houses for low-income people in poor rural areas of Latin America, particularly in Honduras.

We construct ecological houses with the goal of giving their inhabitants a more pleasant (better ventilation), comfortable (kitchen without smoke) and healthy (residual water) life. We try to maximize the use of local resources for a sustainable construction and for the supply of energy and water. Moreover, we take advantage of fruit trees and local vegetation to improve people’s nutrition and health, to create shade, clean residual waters and reduce people’s expenses.
